Charitable Outreach Projects

Christianity fundamentally encompasses two inseparable realities: love of God and love of neighbor. As St. Augustine once stated, “Christianity without charity is false Christianity.” Our Lord Jesus Christ revealed the harmony of this two-fold love through His preaching, His compassion, and His works of mercy.
Because of this, an essential component of Christian formation is the development of awareness, empathy, and service—especially toward the poor and marginalized. To help students grow in authentic Christian living, Saint David Catholic School provides meaningful outreach opportunities that allow them to put their faith into action.
Below are the principal charitable outreach projects coordinated through our school.
Hope Outreach
Hope Outreach is the signature charitable ministry supported by Saint David Catholic School. Founded by Fr. Gabriel O’Reilly, the beloved founding Pastor of Saint David Catholic Church, Hope Outreach embodies his vision of a parish and school community actively extending Christ’s compassion to those in need.
Hope Outreach serves individuals and families facing material hardship both within our local community and in surrounding areas. Through initiatives such as food distribution, clothing assistance, emergency relief, and special seasonal drives, the ministry seeks to restore dignity, foster hope, and accompany those experiencing difficult circumstances.
Students participate in age-appropriate collections, service projects, and awareness activities that introduce them to the reality of poverty and the Christian call to respond generously. By engaging in Hope Outreach, students learn firsthand that mercy and service are central expressions of the Gospel.
Service Learning Day
Service Learning Day is an annual schoolwide event dedicated to forming students in the heart and habits of Christian service. On this day, every grade level participates in purposeful outreach projects that connect classroom learning with real human needs.
Each activity is designed not only to provide tangible assistance but also to deepen students’ understanding of justice, compassion, and the dignity of all people.
Service Learning Day helps students recognize that serving others is not a one-time obligation but a lifelong commitment. By working together as a school community, students experience the joy of Christian discipleship and the impact that their actions can have on the lives of others.
