Masses & Confessions

Sunday Mass Participation
Participation in the Eucharist is central to Catholic life, and Sunday Mass attendance is considered both a vital component and a sacred obligation for all Catholics. In accordance with the Family Commitment Program, each family registered at Saint David Catholic School is expected to attend Mass every Sunday. Through this weekly encounter with Christ, parents fulfill a key aspect of their baptismal duty as the primary educators of their children in the faith and become essential partners in the school’s spiritual formation efforts.

Consistent Sunday worship not only strengthens family life but also provides the foundation upon which the school’s religious instruction, sacramental preparation, and daily faith experiences are built. When Sunday Mass participation is missing or irregular, the spiritual development of students becomes incomplete, as the school alone cannot replace the formative power of liturgical life within the family.
School Masses
Students at Saint David Catholic School routinely attend Mass on a weekly basis while at school. School Masses typically take place on Wednesday and always on Holy Days of Obligation, which fall on school days. The weekly school Masses are not meant to substitute the Sunday Mass obligation, but to complement it as an important habit in the development of spiritual maturity.
School Confessions
Students at Saint David Catholic School are afforded the opportunity to frequent the sacrament of Reconciliation while at school at least twice a year, once during Advent and Lent. Students preparing for First Communion and Confirmation are also given the opportunity to receive the sacrament in preparation for those important celebrations. Additionally, students and their families are also encouraged to sensibly embrace this sacrament as needed outside of school hours throughout the year.
