First Penance
The Sacrament of First Reconciliation is ministered to students in Second Grade, typically in the second semester, before they make their First Holy Communion. Preparation for this sacrament takes place over time during the period of religious instruction.
First Holy Communion
Students receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion while in Second Grade, typically in May, and after having received the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. First Holy Communion celebrations routinely take place on announced Saturdays. Like the sacrament of First Penance, preparation for this sacrament takes place over time during the period of religious instruction.
Confirmation
The sacrament of Confirmation, which completes reception of Christian Initiation, is conferred on students during their Seventh Grade year, typically during the spring semester. This sacrament is administered by a bishop. Like the sacraments of First Penance and First Holy Communion, preparation for this sacrament takes place over time during the period of religious instruction. Seventh-grade students preparing to receive this sacrament are required to attend a retreat coordinated by the school.
